The Como West Community Garden sits on the corner of Warraba and Mulyan Streets, half way up the hill between the train station and the Como shops. Our plan is simple… develop a food garden to enhance the community use of this historic site. We love the place we live, so when our own gardens are tidy enough, we pitch in for a bit of fun and good company.
The Como West Community Garden invites guests to contribute pieces here. If you have writings or images that connect our community, we would love to publish them. If what you do or have to say helps Como meet, rest, play or socialise please contact us so we can share.
Our intention is to publish a regular update of our achievements and the next baby steps we have targeted to achieve in our more ambitious, enduring plans. We make weekly announcements on our Facebook Page. By contrast, this blog is for more thoughtful and reflective content.
Como has always enjoyed a rich arts and social life. Our area is full of quirky historical yarns, crafty talent and ye olde technical drawings. We live amongst fascinating critters and beautiful, significant sites. This journal will try to capture some of the charming character of this lovely part of the world and the reasons we have all been drawn to live here.
